Participant Acknowledgment and Assumption of Risk

I, the participant, acknowledge and understand that participating in a Fitness competition involves risks. These risks include, but are not limited to, falls, improper use or failure of equipment, exertion-related injuries, and risks associated with the physical demands of the competition.

Health and Fitness Responsibility

On behalf of my team, I take full responsibility for ensuring that we possess the necessary fitness and health levels required to safely participate in this competition. I acknowledge that I am fully aware of the movement standards and requirements prior to entering the competition and have taken all practical steps to minimise the risk of injury before and during the event.

Medical Risks

I understand that physical training, including participation in this competition, can lead to various health risks, including but not limited to, abnormal changes in heart rate, blood pressure, and other bodily functions. These risks may result in symptoms such as chest, arm, or leg discomfort, lightheadedness, fainting, and in rare instances, heart attack, stroke, or even death. Additionally, excessive exercise can, in rare cases, result in exertional rhabdomyolysis, a condition that may cause kidney damage. I understand that this condition can be influenced by factors beyond the control of my trainer or the competition organizers, such as genetic predisposition or dehydration.

Voluntary Participation and Waiver of Liability

I fully understand and voluntarily accept these risks. I acknowledge that my participation, and that of my team, in this competition is entirely voluntary and at our own risk. We accept full responsibility for any injury or mishap that may occur during the event, and I, on behalf of my team, waive any claims, demands, or causes of action against MVMNT Taupō, its owners, employees, trainers, or affiliates arising from our participation in this competition.

Media Release

I grant permission for images of myself and my team members captured during the competition, whether through video or digital photography, to be used by MVMNT Taupō solely for promotional purposes on its website and social media platforms.

By agreeing to this waiver, I acknowledge that I have read and fully understand the risks involved in participating in this competition and that I accept full responsibility for any consequences that may arise as a result of our participation.
